Basically, what Rebecca explained in this vlog is about the "angel" and the "demon" inside a person's head, which are basically voices that respectively encourage and discourage the person.
Basically, what the demon does is not only make the person do crimes, physical attacks, verbal attacks and other inconveniences, but it also discourages the person who are doing these actions themselves. Discouraging including insulting themselves, changing their mood to sadness and anger, finding their lives difficult, telling themselves the negative characteristics and even suicidal thoughts.
For the majority of Rebecca's life, she has listen to the demon. Several instances is the reason why she did so. This includes the fact that other kids, in her middle school classes, judged her for being horizontally challenged and more. She also discouraged herself when animating and even singing, and she even talks about her sufferance for the process of her upcoming animations and songs, especially on her Twitter, even nowadays.
The angel is another imaginary voice that, opposing to the demon, encourages the person who they are with. The angel is not only self-encouraging, but it also makes the person respect other people, giving them compliments and more.
Rebecca has heard her angel for the minority of her life, but she is listening to it more often nowadays. This is only because she is currently having a YouTube channel that is constantly growing in views, subscribers and a general attraction with her.
There is an Easter egg in this video, and it is about her lipstick. She changed it when she talked about the demon and the angel. A dark purple for the demon and a bright pink for the angel.
The reception is very positive, despite the like to dislike ratio which is comparatively low to the ones from other animations, such as The Girlfriend Fairy and even Crotchety Storage Lady. This video even encouraged the viewers to listen to their angel and even changed their lives in some way.
- The video's title was inspired from the song Don't Listen to the Demon, in which Rebecca sung at the outro.
